For the month of June I've partnered with Lulu's.com to bring you a series of four posts, each one inspired by a different 1970's female musician. Check back every Tuesday to see my interpretation of an influential artist's signature look.

Leather vest: Vintage (swapped)
This week's look is inspired by Stevie Nicks. I'm pretty sure that my younger self would be appalled by how much
I've come to love Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks, but man, I can't help
it. Not only do I find myself listening to either Tusk or Rumors almost every morning on my way to work, but if I ever need inspiration for styling long layers, this is the
woman whose style I turn to. Pile on the scarves, shawls, silks,
tapestry, and lace, and you'll have your Stevie look. Extra credit if
you add a top hat and feathers.
Are you inspired by a particular musician or band? I'd love to know!

!!! i love this idea! i love that shawl so much... can't wait to see the other musicians you chose & what you did with the looks! xoxo
Stevie Nicks is my spirit animal. I can only aspire to be as bad ass and stylish as she. You nailed it! Now I must listen to Rumours all.day. :)

haha top hat and feathers, i'm not sure if i'm brave enough to try that. love this look though, especially that pretty crochet looking throw over.
i don't think any musician inspires me, but i think the 60s era does. watching mad men makes me itch to go thrifting a get pretty dresses
Alison Mosshart & Justin Townes Earle for being god damn dapper.
I know what you mean! I never "got" Fleetwood Mac or Stevie when I was younger, but now I recognize they're one of the best bands, and Stevie is a huge inspiration to me, musically and stylistically. The vibratto in her voice gets me every time.
I love Stevie and you have captured her style beautifully!
This feature is so cool! I love Stevie, and while I'm not sure I can rock her style myself, I do love it! Seeing your interpretation was great- can't wait for the others!
Love it-this feature sounds awesome. I try to channel Stevie whenever possible:)
Ahh this outfit is styled to perfection, in my opinion.
i love stevie nicks and i love this outfit!!!
love it!
Love the inspiration for these posts- I think you totally nailed the Stevie Nicks look with this outfit and you look amazing! :)
Oh my goodness, love this! She's the best!
i have passed through phases of punk, post-punk, euro industrial goth, electronica, freak folk, shoegaze, etc....
i still listen to all of these genres, but through them all, i have always admired and loved fleetwood mac, their enduring sounds and voices and lyrics, and the beautiful style of madame nicks.
you do her a fabulous tribute! i love the necklace particularly....

Julie, you look gorgeous. Do you get sick of hearing how beautiful your hair is?
I've been really inspired by Annie Clark lately - just did a style inspiration post, actually! :)

I LOVE Stevie Nicks' style and music (I even went to my hairdresser with a photo of her and told him to do my hair like hers, haha) and Rumors by Fleetwood Mac is one of my favourite albums ever.
You look awesome, just like her (the shawl is perfect!)
Life is a romantic poem
So good. Kiln House is a good album too! And the self-titled of course. In case you couldn't tell- I'm a huge fan. :] This video is one of my favorites: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HguL2bIri1Q
Annyways, I love this outfit. It's so different from anything I would ever wear but it looks like so much fun! I've been very drawn to black lately. We're selling that cardigan in the boutique I work at...
LOVE THIS! Can you tell I am a massive Stevie fan? You did such a brilliant job at capturing her style x
I think this is one of my favourite posts ever! You captured Stevie so well! <3 <3 <3

That is one seriously awesome outfit! I haven't really been at all drawn to the high-low dresses these days, but I am so in love with the layers on this one--and the bustle effect under the vest!
I wish Lulus still had this dress in stock! Oh well!
Well done on the clever combination though; you look gorgeous!
